I’m calling the best pizza I’ve laid my tastebuds on in Adelaide!
…Well, I actually haven’t tried many pizza restaurants in Adelaide yet, but I have a feeling Est pizza is going to be hard to beat! Being a Melbournian, where wood-fired pizzas are all the rage lately, searching for a restaurant that matched this pizza style I am surrounded by at home proved to be difficult, but ended when we came across Est Pizzeria.
I like what they did with their name. “Est Pizzeria”; the result of being located on East Terrace and serving up Italian cuisine… “East” in Italian is “est”… Pizza on “Est” (Terrace). I see what you did there, guys! Okay, that’s enough Italian lessons for today.
Onto what’s more important – the food. Top quality gourmet wood-fired pizzas with be perfect amount of crunch. It’s evident that high quality ingredients are used and equal amounts of love put into each pizza that is made. It’s not just pizza at this pizzeria; their menu features other Italian dishes like gnocchi and polenta. I can’t boast for those dishes… just yet! I know I’ll be back for another dose of Est pizza soon, so I will definitely be trying their pasta next time!
We ordered the margherita pizza and the mushroom pizza. Both absolutely divine. I favoured the margherita a little bit more, but I’m partial to margheritas in general. Would highly recommend both! We thought the prices were a little high but walked out completely justifying the price. I would pay $23 for an Est pizza any day.
The vibes of the eatery are somewhere between a fine-dining experience and a laid-back modern bar. The dimmed lighting and small space makes for a cosy and intimate dining experience. They also have a seating area on their second level. Our super helpful waiter offered exceptional service, although bad service is hard to come by in Adelaide.
I hope to see them extend their hours to lunch time in the near future.
